To understand a culture, the people, subtle nuances and deep meanings, learn its language. The Irish Lessons are online immersion experience that helps you learn and interact with a real native speaker. I develop a customized learning plan for all students, based on their current knowledge, skill and competence for the language.
There’s an abundance of learning material available for Irish however it’s still important to learn from an Irish speaker from the Gealthacht.
Learning a new foreign language is never easy. I have taught Irish language lessons to students from over 50 countries and I am incredibly patient and supportive and love learning about their traditions, cultures, personal interests and professions. I learn from my students as much as they learn from me. My students always have the same goals and traits – they’re determined, highly motivated, and have a strong desire to speak Irish.
Highest Quality Of Teaching For Students
Focused personalized feedback: When learning the Irish language, you need to know exactly what you are doing right and where you need to improve. My individualized lessons give detailed, constructive feedback to help you track progress and we can modify the approach according to your needs.
Questions encouraged: You can ask questions about all aspects and nuances of Irish language and culture. It is a great way to learn, keeping you more engaged in the process of learning Irish, as you can take control and guide lessons towards your areas of specific interest and content.
Technology cannot understand culture and does not have the complexity to understand or recognize slang and idioms. Learning apps do not focus on making you confident in speaking full sentences in Irish. Learning Irish requires that you have someone to engage in conversation with. Practicing with a native speaker exposes you to idioms, dialects and slang. Just because the technology is available, doesn’t mean it’s always going to be the best option.
Being an effective teacher, therefore, requires the implementation of creative and innovative teaching strategies in order to meet students individual needs.
My vision is to ensure aspiring Irish speakers from all over the world can help the language take its rightful place as one of the world’s greatest languages.
To me this means providing the highest quality of teaching to students; it means being a leader in the growing field of online language learning in Irish; it means allowing students to learn one-on-one according to their needs; being innovative in finding strategies for teaching Irish; allowing students to truly immerse themselves in the language; and teaching them not only the Irish language but the mindset of a native Irish speaker.
My Irish Language Mission

Maintaining Irish-teaching strategies that I have personally developed over the years. Exposing students to the history and culture of the Gaeltacht, as well as the Irish language.
The above is implemented for each student I take on and evaluated regularly for ongoing development and improvement.

“A language, of course, is not just a set of grammatical rules or a vocabulary; it’s a flash of the human spirit, the vehicle by which the soul of a particular culture comes into the material world. Every language is an old-growth forest of the mind, a watershed of thought, an ecosystem of social, spiritual and psychological possibilities. Each is a window into a universe, a monument to the specific culture that gave it birth and whose spirit it expresses.”
