Are The Old Ways Slipping Away

Are the old ways slipping away because we are not keeping up the traditions. Are we forgetting our elders the holders of wisdom, language, and tradition. Is excessive technology rewiring our brains, affecting our relationship with each other and the natural world.
Nestled within the ancient landscapes of Eire are doorways into the rich tapestry of local mythology and folklore. The more I study our ancestors, they had keen observation, stories were associated to every nook and cranny of the natural world. When I am walking in-the landscape I am trying to reconnect to my natural self. I believe the wildness that is buried in our souls, aches when the unnatural environments traps us on a hamster wheel of busyness. Our bodies are not machines , it is a universe of ancient wisdom, waiting for us to tap into.
There is a longing for communication between people and separateness is a disease that torments the heart. We are wired to be social creatures and now more than ever we need each other. With so much distractions and constant noise, it is difficult to tune in our authentic self and the natural world. It’s up to us to find a way.
To walk and touch the moss, to smell the seaweed in the air, to taste a blackberry, the feelings of awe when standing still in resounding silence of the natural landscape. This beauty and peace that is available to all of us, can begin to clear-your mind and soothe your soul back to remembering who you truly are.
Let’s deepen our connection and relationship with nature and each other.
